Bulgarian politician survives assassination attempt on Live TV
Ahmed Dogan, leader of a liberal party which represents the Turkish minority in Bulgaria, survived the astonishing assassination attempt while giving a speech at a conference in the capital Sofia (left). Television footage shows a man storming the stage and aiming a gun at his head. But the weapon misfired and Mr Dogan, 58, escaped unharmed. Security guards and delegates then wrestle the man to the ground and began beating and kicking him. The 25-year-old suspect was led away covered in blood (right).

Mother defends photo of Chicago preacher taking a bath with her 4yr old daughter
Days after popular Chicago preacher, Bishop Larry Trotter was criticized online for taking a bubble bath with his 4 year old grand daughter, the little girl's mother, Javon Trotter, has come out to defend her father. Read what she said below...
“I’m upset, I’m hurt I can’t believe that people would re-post the picture of my innocent baby and say bad things about my father who loves my baby and all kids. He would never do anything to harm them. It’s hurtful for my whole family. I don’t understand this. It doesn’t look bad. I don’t know why people would think this way. I know my father and he would never do anything to his kids. I would have not posted the photo online…We never wanted anyone else to see it. My father is hurt as well, we’re his family. He doesn’t want people to be posting his picture all over the world.”She also said her father and daughter had on swimming trunks and that the little girl was in the water for about three to five minutes, and she was present during the entire situation.

New Mexico shooting leaves 5 dead.
Authorities identified the victims late Sunday as Greg Griego, 51, his wife Sara Griego, 40, and three of their children: a 9-year-old boy, Zephania Griego, and daughters Jael Griego, 5, and Angelina Griego, 2.—five family members,all with multiple gunshot wounds.
Greg Griego, a spiritual leader known for his work with firefighters and the 13 years he spent as a volunteer chaplain at the county jail.
A 15-year-old boy,who,may be a family member,was charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.

Afcon 2013: The missing African stars!
However, there are some African stars that will be missing from the AFCON party in South Africa. Those who would not be there are either from countries that could not qualify for the soccer showpiece or those whose countries qualified but were not considered good enough to make their squads.
1. Samuel Eto’ Fils (Cameroon):
Top on the list of the missing stars is one of Africa’s most decorated footballers and one of the highest paid in the trade, Samuel Eto’ Fis. Eto, a former captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will be conspicuously missing because his country failed to qualify.
2. 2010 African Footballer Alex Song (Cameroon):
The F.C Barcelona midfielder, like his compatriot, Samuel Eto could not pilot Cameroon to qualify for the tournament.
3. Obafemi Martins(Nigeria):
After a long hiatus from the Super Eagles, Martins was recalled by Coach Stephen Keshi for the friendly match against Venezuela. Even though the former Inter star was banging in goals for his Spanish side, Levante, Martins failed to impress. Eventually, Keshi dropped him from the squad to South Africa.
4. Osaze Odemwingie(Nigeria):
Red hot West Brom forward, Osaze Odemwingie was another intriguing exclusion from Coach Stephen Keshi’s line up. Followers of the Super Eagles will however point to Osaze’s antecedents with previous national team coaches and his interpersonal relationship with other players as his biggest undoing.
5. Andre Ayew(Ghana) :
Definitely, this son of one of Africa’s greatest soccer exponents, Abedi Pele Ayew will be missing from the Black Stars of Ghana squad in South Africa. He failed to beat the deadline set by Coach Kwesi Appiah for players to report to camp. Andre was reported to have been injured after a league match for Olympic Marseilles. Although coach Appiah’s decision to drop the nimble-footed attacker raised a lot of debate, particularly after the coach ignored Andre’s sibling, Jordan from the team. The two brothers were part of Black Stars Afcon 2010/2012 story and will be missing in the Black Stars line up when hostilities begin in South Africa.
6. Flavio(Angola):
Flavio is one of a duo that represents the face of modern Angolan football. Together with Manucho, the striker ranks high on the ladder and is regarded as Angola’s most prolific goal scorers. He failed to make it to this year’s Africa Cup of Nations when the final list was released.
