For the last three years a Reuters photographer has provided an inside look into the lives of Krishna and her young husband Gopal Kishan, starting with their marriage in May of 2010 – he at the age of 13 and she 11.

A fire swept through a crowded nightclub in southern Brazil early today Sunday January 27th, killing at least 245 people and leaving hundreds injured.

Fire broke out at popular night club, Kiss Club, in the city of Santa Maria, while a band was performing. There were over a 1000 people at the club when fire started at around 2 a.m. A stampede ensued immediately as party goers pushed and shoved each other to escape.

The cause of the fire is not yet known,Witnesses said a flare or firework lit by band members may have started the fire.

"Sad Sunday", the governor of the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul tweeted. He said all possible action was being taken and that he would be in the city later in the day.

The 36 year old Egyptian referee who officiated the match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Chipolopo of Zambia on Friday January 25th, has been dismissed from the on-going 2013 Africa Cup of Nations as a result of poor officiating.

Ghead Grisha awarded a controversial penalty to Zambia in the 85th minute which enabled them draw level in the group C match.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF immediately sent a protest letter to the Confederation of African Football, CAF, asking the football governing body to look into the questionable call by Grisha.

A top official of CAF said today that Grisha 'has been sent home. He will have no further action at this Cup of Nations. His decisions did not tally with best practices of the refereeing profession and we would not allow anyone to start re-writing the rules of the game here'

Men at work- Songwe International Airport

After a decade under construction, Songwe International Airport, which serves the south western Tanzanian town of Mbeya, on 13 December, joined Dar Es Salaam's Julius Nyerere International, Kilimanjaro Airport, and Zanzibar International as the country's fourth international airport, with Tanzanian carrier Precision Air (PW) amongst the first to announce 4x weekly ATR72-operated flights to the airport, effective 1 February 2013.

The Songwe International Airport project construction was initially started in 2001 in line with the government initiative to improve efficiency and safety of air transport in the country. An international airport is basically an entry and exit point of the country. This implies that such airport should have immigration and customs departments to essentially facilitate movements of foreign passengers and goods. Songwe Airport played that important role.

Infrastructure built includes:

• a 3'300m long runway, 
• a taxiway and parking apron,
• new arrival and departure buildings,
• a control tower,
• drainage structures, water supply and sewerage systems,
• a modern baggage handling system,
• meteorology & communication equipment.

Hopefully the airport will also include other facilities such as the good restaurants and foreign exchange bureaus.

Word just came in that Elizabeth Michael who was allegedly in custody for the death of her fellow actor Steven Kanumba, has been released on bail today.Her case has been going on for such a long time now,with the issue of bail being dismissed every time.

I hope Justice has prevailed though it's good news for some and bad news for others...BUT at the end of the day, the law knows best and I hope we'll all consider that part.

Rick Ross aka rickyrozay crashed a Rolls-Royce into an apartment building in Florida on Monday after he lost control while trying to avoid gunfire aimed at the car.

According to reports, around 5am Rick Ross and a female companion were leaving a party on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale when a car pulled up along side Rick's dark colored Rolls and opened fire.

The rapper lost control of the car and hit the apartment building as he tried to get away from the shots.Neither Ross nor his passenger was injured and police say it did not appear that any bullets struck the Rolls and the shooting suspects fled before police arrived.

I wonder who was poppin at Rick Ross to make him crash his whip into a building on his birthday!!

Shortly after news broke about Rick Ross‘ shooting last night which apparently only left his Rolls Royce damaged, rival rapper 50 Cent spoke out on the incident via Instagram and twitter.

Openly gay R&B singer/songwriter Frank Ocean claimed on Twitter today that he was attacked by Chris Brown and a 'couple of guys' at a recording studio in LA last night. 

Sources close to Chris told reporters that Frank Ocean started it by blocking Chris and his crew as they made to leave the studio. Another report claims they fought over parking space, while another claimed Ocean called Rihanna a 'Hoe' and that enraged Chris who attacked Ocean. Police was called to the scene of the fight but Chris and his crew had left before they arrived. Frank Ocean was questioned but no arrest was made and no one is pressing charges...

Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger, has announced that David Beckham is training with Arsenal at their Hertfordshire training base but he won't be signing with the club.

The 37 year old former England captain is currently without a club after leaving LA Galaxy last year.

"He called me," Wenger said. "He has asked to come here and to work on his fitness. He has not done anything for a long, long time. It's purely for fitness. There's no speculation about signing or anything."
