The finale of Miss Universe 2012 pageant was held on December 19, 2012, at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States where Olivia Culpo, a 20-year-old university student from New York, took the crown from last year’s Miss Universe, Leila Lopes from Angola.

Olivia Culpo managed to come on top of 88 contestants from other countries and territories who participated in this year’s pageant. This makes her the first American to be crowned Miss Universe in 15 years.

The winner rocked a red deep v-neck gown by Georges Hobeika Couture Fall 2012.

And here are the final results:

THE national team of Zambia Chipolopolo, arrived in Dar es Salaam, ready for friendly game against the Tanzania National team ‘Taifa Stars’, to be held at the National Stadium, December 22.

Zambia coach, Herve Renard, has named a full strength side for the friendly, which include skipper Christopher Katongo and the legion of DR Congo’s TP Mazembe stars including defender Stopilla Sunzu and striker, Given Singuluma. Playmaker, Rainford Kalaba is also back in the squad after recovering from a groin injury that saw him miss Zambia’s final AFCON qualifier against Ugan- KIM Poulsen da and the Mandela Challenge.

After their match against Zambia, the Stars’ players will have a two-week break before they resume training on January 6 to 20 when the team is expected to play two more friendlies in preparation for the World Cup qualifier against Morocco.

Step 1:

Ingredients:

4 Large tomatoes, chopped or 2 cans

2 onions, chopped 

3 garlic cloves, peeled 

2 Tbsp tomato paste obtional 

2 chicken or vegetable stock cubes 

butter to fry 

3 Tbsp olive oil 

salt and pepper 

Step 2:

Melt the butter

Place a pan on a medium heat, add the oil and butter, stir well and allow to melt. 

Step 3: 

Fry the onions and garlic 

Once melted add the onions and chopped garlic and stir. Sweat the onions until they have a little colour, stirring occasionally to prevent them from burning. 

Step 4: 

Cook the soup 

Add the tomato puree, chopped tomatoes,stock stir again and bring it to the boil. Once boiling, cover and turn the heat down to a simmer. Leave to cook for 30 minutes. Once cooked, remove from the heat. 

Step 5: 

Blend& season with salt and pepper. 

Step 6: 

Reheat the soup if necessary.

Step 7: 

Serve 

Pour into soup bowls and add a dash of cream or cheese just before serving! I also add some basil leaves.Serve with some fresh crusty bread 

enjoy!

The Center for Science in the Public Interest is urging Beyonce to drop her $50 million deal with Pepsi because soft drinks contribute to obesity and other health problems in children and adults...

An open letter from the director of the CSPI to Beyonce,

Beyonce you have a unique position in the cultural life of this country and are an inspiring role model for millions of young people.

Your image is one of success, health, talent, fitness, and glamour. But by lending your name and image to Pepsi Co, you are associating those positive attributes with a product that is quite literally sickening Americans.

I imagine that it must be hard for anyone to turn away $50 million. But this endorsement deal strikes me as particularly inappropriate, considering your popularity with America's young people and the extent to which Pepsi and other sugary drinks promote disease.

The New York Times attributed to you a statement that this endorsement agreement allows you “to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing [your] creativity ” It seems to me that this deal is actually an enormous comprise. In fact, I would characterize this as an even bigger compromise than your accepting $2 million to perform at the 2009 New Year’s Eve bash thrown by Hannibal Gaddafi, the famously violent son of the now-deceased Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

You realized that that arrangement was in error and wisely donated those proceeds to charity, I respectfully urge you to reconsider your arrangement with Pepsi Co. If you move ahead with your promotional activities, you may wish to consider donating your proceeds to a hospital, diabetes organization or another reputable charity involved in the prevention or treatment of soda-related diseases.

,Victor Cingolani (pictured above) was jailed for the 2010 murder of 19-year-old model Johana Casas(pictured with him above). Tomorrow December 22nd, her twin sister Edith (pictured above, right) will marry the killer in Pico Truncade, Argentina, close to the jail where he is serving 13 years for the murder of Johana.

Johana was shot dead days before her 20th birthday in August 2010. Her ex-boyfriend, Victor Cingolani, was convicted of her murder.

Edith Casas believes Victor is not guilty of murder, insisting that her future husband is the victim of a miscarriage of justice and is backing his appeal against his murder conviction.

She said: 'Victor is not a violent person and I’m not mad. We’ve got no doubts about what we’re doing. We love each other.'

A second man, Johana’s boyfriend at the time of her murder, will go on trial next year over the killing.

Marcos Diaz was at a party with Johana hours before she appeared dead.

Lucas Chacon, Cingolani’s defence lawyer, insisted: 'The cigarette butts found near Johana’s body belonged to Diaz and all the witnesses have incriminated him.

I can understand Johana’s parents’ attitude. But Edith is not marrying a killer or anything like it.

She is marrying a man who was convicted in a judicial scandal. All we want is justice.

The twin's mother Marcelina said her surviving daughter was guilty of a 'terrible betrayal'. She said Edith was suffering psychological problems and she feared Cingolani would take her life too.

South Korean pop sensation, PSY, has done something no other artist has ever done before. Yesterday Friday December 21, 2012, PSY's music video for Gangnam Style exceeded 1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the first video to ever do so in YouTube's history.

Google reports that Gangnam Style sees about 7 million views a day... no small feat from a man who was a complete unknown Stateside just a few months ago.

Honestly, when I made this video I didn't even expect 1 million views, because this is off my sixth album in Korea, so I just hoped it would be huge there," PSY recently told MTV News. She's contemplating getting one because she says she has faint eyebrows and wants to know ifhaving the eyebrows permanently tattooed is her best option. Would you recommend it? Would you not? Why and why not?
