Only a few days after Rev murder,Imam beaten to death in ZANZIBAR

Just a few days after death of Father Evarist Gabriel Mushi by unidentified people.The late Rev. Mushi was shot dead last Sunday with three bullets hitting him on the head while driving to church for Sunday Mass at Mtoni congregation.

The Imam of Mwakaje mosque,Sheikh Ali Khamis Ali (65) has died after being attacked and beaten to death on Friday afternoon.

According to the North Unguja Regional Police Commander (RPC), Ahmada Khamis, the deceased was found dead in his coconut farm in Kidoti village. “Preliminary investigations revealed that the killers were thieves who entered Ali Khamis’s farm with intention to steal coconut and the confrontation resulted into his death.

No arrests have been made in connection with the murder. A Pathologist at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital, Dr Msafiri Majirani, said that a postmortem outcome indicated that a knife was used against the deceased who died on the way as he was being rushed to hospital for treatment.
