Try these simple tips that will give your feel room to breathe without taking away from your style.
Choose the best time to go shopping
While you can go shopping any time of day you prefer, when it comes to shoe shopping there are good times and bad times. In the morning your feet are rested and you can even wear tighter shoes for a while without noticing.
It’s better to buy shoes in late afternoon when your feet are getting tired and they could even be a bit swollen. That way, you make sure that the shoes you get will stay comfortable.
Buy the right size
Measuring your footwear size from time to time is a great idea, especially if you've been pregnant and still kept to the same size. At the very least, try on the slightly bigger size than the one you think you have. If you breath a sigh of relief and the foot doesn't move around in the shoe, then that’s the size you should be getting.
Avoid synthetics
Wear only shoes that have natural leather or suede insoles because it is breathable and pliable, it will prevent chafing and blistering while molding to the feet. If you choose not to wear leather, get a good quality alternative.
When selecting a career or dress shoe, look for
A low (2 inch or less), broad based heel - the higher the heel, the greater the pressure on the front of the foot. Comfortable shoes typically have lower heels.
A good, firm heel counter (this helps lock the foot into the shoe and anchors it to the mid-sole, giving extra support)
Sole and heel materials that provide cushioning and shock absorption.
A broader and deeper toe shape - In the most comfortable shoes the toe box will allow a lot of room, preventing pinching or constriction of the toes.

Visit a store that knows and cares about fitting—and has a wide selection of comfortable shoe brands for you to choose from.
Get more cushioning
Test a shoe for cushioning by pressing a finger into the ball area. It should have a little give or a slightly padded feel. Comfortable shoes typically have a cushioned foot bed that supports the natural shape of the feet.
Avoid blisters and cuts
Avoid slippage and cuts on your heel by finding a shoe with a back that fits snugly and holds your foot securely. You don't want to end up coming home after a great night or work with blisters and cuts all over your feet followed by painful soreness.
A suede heel grip might help prevent blisters when you wear the shoes for a few hours for the first time.
Alternate heels with flats
Even if your heels are comfortable, you still shouldn't wear them daily. Alternate them with flats or kitten heels especially when you’re wearing pants and the shoe is less visible.
Deal with pain correctly
A warm soak is the traditional solution for tired feet, but it’s not the most efficient. Submerging your feet in cold water can eliminate the pain faster. The colder temperatures also help you deal with swelling.
