Two ladies from the Bronx have been caught smuggling 6.5 kilos of cocaine in "diapers" made of duct tape.

Returning to New York's JFK on a JetBlue flight from the Dominican Republic, Priscilla Pena and Michelle Blassingale were relying on the cocaine girdles to give off a natural appearance.

A drug-sniffing Customs dog alerted agents to contraband on Priscilla Pena and Michelle Blassingale, but a search of their luggage yielded nothing. While she was being questioned, Pena "appeared to be very nervous," and during a subsequent pat-down, a CBP Officer "noticed a hard object near Pena's waist and buttocks."

Blassingale is being held in jail by a Brooklyn federal judge and Pena has been released on a $150,000 bail bond according to the New York Post.

Nicki Minaj discussed nearly getting arrested in Dubai for giving a police officer a hug, during a recent appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
“I went to Dubai. I almost got in so much trouble because the guys in Dubai are so cute. It’s not even funny. One of the rules [is] you can’t hug a man if you’re not married to the man. And so when we were leaving, there was this one guy that was so freaking cute, I was like, ‘Bye!’ because I just wanted to have this one last moment to…savor the moment with him…”
Minaj continued, “Literally, I didn’t know he was a cop. They don’t have a police [uniform]. It was like a private airport. They were just dressed in their regular garments. I went to give him a hug, and it was literally, I almost felt like time stopped in Dubai. Ifelt like everything froze. Every single person turned around in slow motion like, ‘Nooo!’”

Minaj concluded, “Everyone in my team thought I was going to be put in jail. It was the scariest thing. He kinda put his arms up a little bit and cracked a nervous smile, and I was just like, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry!’ and I just left.”

Virgin Atlantic faces racial discrimination accusation over job rejection

When Max Kpakio applied in his own name for the job in Swansea he was turned down

Virgin Atlantic was today accused of racism after allegedly rejecting a job application from an African refugee, but accepting him when he applied with a British name.

Max Kpakio was turned down for a call centre job - and when he suspected his foreign-sounding name was at fault, he re-submitted his application under the name Craig Owen.

He claims the enthusiastic response the second application received proves that his initial rejection was based solely on racial discrimination, and is taking the airline to an employment tribunal.

When his application to work at a Virgin call centre in Swansea was rejected, he was convinced it was due to his African name.
Max Kpakio reapplied under the traditionally British name of Craig Owen

Not only was he invited for interview when he applied as Craig Owen, but the company repeatedly contacted him encouraging his application - even though it was nothing more than a simplified version of his genuine CV.After he failed to respond to their initial email, they sent a string of messages saying how much they were looking forward to meeting him.

It occurred to me that my ethnic origin may have something to do with the rejection. I then decided to make a further application to Virgin, using the name Craig Owen.

They were in touch with me seven or eight times, and kept coming back to me when I didn't respond. Now I have made an application to the employment tribunal alleging racial discrimination.

Mr Kpakio was born in Liberia but moved with his three children to Swansea in 2002 to escape civil war.

He has since been granted British citizenship and earned a degree in International Relations at Swansea University.

After finding himself out of work he went along to a staff recruitment presentation with Virgin Atlantic's call centre in Swansea.

His case for alleged racial discrimination is due to be heard by an employment tribunal in April.

A spokeswoman for Virgin Atlantic said:
"We are an equal opportunities employer.''
''We pride ourselves on providing opportunities to talented people regardless of their race, sex, age or other characteristic.''
''We take allegations of discrimination extremely seriously. Whilst we do not comment on individual cases, we strongly deny any of our recruitment decisions or practices are discriminatory in any way.''

Banda plans to auction off the Dassault Falcon 900EX to the highest bidder and use the funds to provide basic services …

When Malawi's late president, Bingu wa Mutharika purchased a luxurious 14-seat presidential jet for $13.3 million five years ago, the purchase was met with strong criticism. BBC News reports that angry donors even cut aid to Malawi by $4.4 million.

Mutharika's successor, President Joyce Banda, refuses to fly in the luxury plane. Instead, she plans to auction off the Dassault Falcon 900EX, still in "perfect flying condition," to the highest bidder — and use the funds to provide basic services for the country's poorest residents."The bids will be opened and offers read out in the presence of interested buyers or their representatives and any member of the general public on 20 February," the president's office said in a statement.

Malawi is one of Africa's poorest countries. In an effort to cut costs and improve relationships with western donors, the president and vice president recently took significant pay cuts and slashed their salaries by 30 per cent.

Last night, Beyonce opened up Super Bowl halftime show press conference with an amazing live cappella rendition of the national anthem after which she asked with a laugh, 'any questions'? The first question she was asked was if she sang to a pre-recorded track during the Inauguration. Beyonce admitted she had some help and explained:
Yes. I am a perfectionist. One thing about me is that I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show. A very emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper soundtrack, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the Inauguration and I wanted to make him proud so I decided to sing along to my pre-recorded track which is very common in the industry and I’m very proud of my performance.
"I will absolutely be singing live, (at Super Bowl). This is what I was born to do."
